About

Hi there, I’m Julia. I grew up in Germany and moved to the Netherlands in 2001. I have been publishing knitting patterns since 2019, first independently on Ravelry and later in magazines such as Laine, Pom Pom Magazine and Yedra.

Next to designing knitwear I occasionally teach workshops on a selection of knitting techniques. The Selvedge Workshop featured on this website was created together with Matilda Ross. In the workshop, we teach you how to work intarsia seed stitch—the technique I used to create my Selvedge Shawl.

I have also started to teach others how they can design their own garments and accessories. You can find my articles on knit design on Substack.

My designs are inspired by the urban landscape, but knitted with nature in mind. I like working with yarn producers who respect our planet and the well being of the beautiful creatures that provide the fibres.

Together with Matilda Ross I occasionally whip up a video blog whether we chat about where we find inspiration and share what we are currently working on.

In KOEL Magazine I talk more about my love for knitting and the path from idea
